About Us:
The Jewish Deaf Foundation, founded in early 2014, aims to bring innovative Jewish educational projects and programs to the Deaf community. We work with all age groups, from toddlers through senior citizens. Our headquarters are in New York, and our programming reaches people from all over the world. Through our programs, we are building a strong and proud community made up of Jewish deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Our programming is always in sign language, and we ensure accessibility for the wider community through sign language interpreters and other methods. We believe that every deaf and hard of hearing Jew deserves to have direct access to the beauty of our rich Jewish heritage.
Our organization is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity, and we will provide a receipt for tax deductions.

Chushim Ben Dan is an Israeli registered nonprofit charity whose mission is to make Judaism accessible, graspable, and even enthralling for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. This past June, we celebrated our second birthday, and we are on track to expand even more. With 10 employees and 15 freelance contractors, we give back to the Deaf community by hiring deaf and hard of hearing employees for every possible position available. While our focus is on the local Israeli deaf community, we continue to find ways to make our programming accessible to those who do not speak Hebrew or Israeli Sign Language.
Our financial records are accredited by the government (nihul takin), and we will shortly receive “seif 46” to enable tax deductible contributions.

The Jewish Deaf Foundation and Chushim Ben Dan are sister organizations, and work in tandem to focus their spheres of influence on the international community and on the local Israeli population respectively. Both are led by Rabbi Yehoshua Soudakoff, the only deaf rabbi in Israel and one of four deaf rabbis globally.
